About this event

2021 Strategic Plan - Dream, Strengthen, Grow. Have your say.

Over the past two months, we have engaged people across Queen’s FHS and SEAMO exploring what matters most to them about Queen’s, and their hopes for the future. We heard how much people appreciate and value the unique possibilities our size, expertise, and sense of community gives us – and how much energy you have for an even stronger future.

Your voices shaped the second phase of our planning, a series of “strategy hives.” Building on the themes you identified, these sessions will bring people together around key strategic questions, and create a vision for each topic. Each of the Hives will build on the previous one, and over the full set, we will identify a strategic framework that will guide us for the next five years.

Hive Two: Evolving SEAMO for its full potential: Setting a vision for SEAMO

May 28, 2021 from 7:30 am-10:00 am

SEAMO is a unique entity in the province of Ontario. People across the SEAMO network see the potential of this structure to support both the tripartite mandate of academic healthcare and the full quintuple aims of best care experiences, best outcomes, health equity, system efficiency and the provider/faculty experience.

As we engaged health system leaders and members of the SEAMO organization, it was clear that everyone would like to see a change and evolution in how SEAMO serves its members and the academic and clinical needs of the region. In this strategy hive, we will be bringing together diverse voices from across the SEAMO organization and FHS to explore possible visions for the organization, and the roles it can play supporting the clinical departments, the trainee experience, research, quality of care, and as a key support structure for the region. Please join us for this session where we will explore:

  • What is the full potential for SEAMO as a liberating structure -- for provider excellence and wellbeing, for health system redesign, for clinical services, education and research?
  • What is most needed from SEAMO ?

This Hive will be hosted online and facilitated by The Potential Group. The session will be highly interactive, with multiple breakout groups and opportunities to shape direction and actions for the future of the Faculty of Health Sciences and SEAMO.
